Roaming the streets of Barcelona I came across one of the most peculiar places I´ve seen since I live here. Estilo, a barbershop where owners and almost all clients are black immigrants from the Dominican Republic.
This barbershop is the heart and soul of Corders street. It is always full of people and their laughs mixed with the sounds of hair clippers and Caribbean rhythms create a wonderful atmosphere. Its uniqueness and positive energy call the attention of locals and foreigners who always stop to take a better look inside.
Pupilo, Puchy and Anibal are artists who with their skills make clients feel good inside and outside. And that can be seen in everyone who leaves with a smile on their face.
But during the time I spent at this barbershop I realized that it is more than just a place where one can get a great haircut. It is a window to their culture. A tiny corner that although located in a foreign land reminds them of their beloved country.
